For the first time in its history the COGMNA invited the President of the Conference of Prince Hall Grand Masters to their annual meeting.

MWGM Shelton Dennis Redden, Grand Master of the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Maryland & President of the Prince Hall Conference of Grand Masters, received and accepted an invitation from MWGM Johnny Onkst, Grand Master of Oklahoma & Chairman of the COGMNA to attend the 2008 Conference of Grand Masters of Masons of North America, held in Louisville, Kentucky at the Downtown Marriott during the period 16 - 19 February.

This marks the first time that a Prince Hall Grand Master was invited and received by the COGMNA.

Sharing in this historic occasion were the following present & past Grand Masters and Grand Lodge Officers:

MWGM Hugh R. Harlan of Kentucky
MWGM Donald Austin of Iowa
MWPGM William F. Milton, Sr. of Virginia (Executive Secretary, Conference of Prince Hall Grand Masters)
MWPGM Pink Gardner of Kentucky
RW Andrew Pryor, Spec. Admin Asst to MWGM of MD.
RW Dwayne Wright, Spec. Projects Officer of MD.

This historic event is the direct result of the invitation extended by MWGM Redden to MWGM Onkst to attend the 2007 Conference of Prince Hall Masons held in Denver, Colorado in May 2007.

That occasion marked the first time that the Chairman of the COGMNA had attended the annual meeting of the Prince Hall Conference of Grand Masters.

Both MWGM Shelton Dennis Redden and MWGM Johnny Onkst are to be commended for their vision and courage.

In the true spirit of the Masonic Brotherhood we pray that the invitations will continue and that mutual recognition will
be achieved for every Grand Lodge in North America.

To the Glory of the Grand Architect of the Universe!
